"Etsy Month" Giveaway #12- Michelle Chang Jewelry

Recently, I found Michelle Chang Jewelry, as it was featured on Etsy and let me tell ya, I am thrilled to have this shop featured here too! This shop is one of my newest favorites, as everything is extremely unique, one of a kind, yet are classic that will last a lifetime!

Michelle, a super creative lady, was once a fine artist, interior designer and illustrator, finally found her true happiness- making jewelry! I am thrilled, not only because well, I love absolutely everything in her shop, but because I get so very excited when I am a part of something like this shop! Michelle seems to be completely enthralled in her work, loves the entire process, and is truly expressing herself thru her work!

Everything from Michelle Chang Jewelry is hand made in New York City, where Michelle is from! You can find a huge assortment of goodies such as necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and more! Materials include sterling silver, gold, diamonds, semiprecious stones and more!

I am amazed by the attention to detail by each item, and I wanted to see an item in person! I was sent the small crescent moon necklace in sterling silver with gold filled chain. I was a little sketchy about this necklace because I am not typically one to wear any gold jewelry at all....

Once I received the package from Michelle Chang Jewelry, I was so excited! There was a cute little box and inside this precious and delicate little handmade necklace!

This necklace is much more dainty than I would have guessed, and much smaller and feminime than what I am personally used to. However, once I put this necklace on, I was loving it! I have been wearing it almost every single day!

The chain is gold filled, and blends perfectly with my skin! Aside from the shine in the chain, it seems as if the sterling silver crescent moon in hanging in space! The chain is 18" long.

The moon is a little over 1/2" high, perfect for making a statement! This necklace is also available in 14K white or yellow gold, with diamonds, or in all sterling silver. This is a gorgeous necklace and I have received several compliments on it!

Gorgeous, handmade, one of a kind creations from a woman that truly loves her job!

"Etsy Month" Giveaway #11- To Be Stitched

I am sure you are already completely aware that I love pretty much everything cute, personalized and unique when it comes to goodies for my kids! I just recently found a super cute shop that has some of the best goodies for your little ones, and would also be a perfect shower or party gift! To Be Stitched carries it all, blankets, burp clothes, back to school gear, onesies, tutu sets, and so much more! I am even more thrilled to share this gorgeous store with you because it is local for me~ here in The Woodlands, Texas!

To Be Stitched was created in the minds of two mommies on Christmas in 2006! The power was out, and as these two moms. Sarah & Cathy, sat in front of the fire, they talked about embroidery! Discussing their talents, ideas and so forth, they decided to put their creative minds together! These creations have become their "escape from mommy-hood" if you will, and I am sure we can all relate!

The next few months after that, these super creative women practically lived in fabric stores, getting a taste of their new hobby! Then in July 2010, their shop was finally open and ready to roll! Since then, they have been busy bees, and I gotta say, I absolutely love every single thing in their shop! Sarah and Cathy love what they do, and you can really tell, because there are constantly new items being added to the shop and I am so very fortunate to have found this local shop!

To Be Stitched is not only available on Etsy, but you will find a jam-packed website as well! I was literally blown away browsing the site, as the selection is incredible... I could seriously spend a small fortune!

For my review, I decided on the lil bro onesie, for my little man!

This onesie is available in both short sleeved and long sleeved, made from 100% cotton, and guess what? If you don't like the colors, you can pick whatever colors your little heart desires! I love this! However, I was delighted with these colors and I just went with it!

I am so very happy with this onesie, in fact, I had my son's 8 month pictures done in it! I love the simplicity of this, but with bright bold colors! Great fitting, super soft and very practical! Extra credit? You can even get a matching hair bow or burp cloth! How cute is that??

These onesies are in several sizes as well- from newborn up to 6T shirts! These would make super cute sibling sets as well!

The selection is incredible! I am all over this shop for both of my kid's next birthdays!

Great quality, low prices, wonderful customer service and truly unique boutique style items!

"Etsy Month" Giveaway #10- Pao Pao Baby

You should already know how I feel about breastfeeding, and I still believe it is one of the best gifts you can give your child! However, nursing in public can be embarrassing, trust me! With that said, I was searching for a fabulous way to cover up, but all the nursing covers I found were rough, full of chemicals and well, ugly. I ran across Pao Pao Baby, and was intrigued by the name at first, and after reading and seeing these gorgeous nursing covers, I knew I had to have one!

Cheryl, the creator of Pao Pao Baby, was a first time mommy, looking for a fantastic nursing cover herself. Her criteria was simple, and pretty much the same as mine- functional, eco-friendly, good looking, stylish and affordable.... when she came up empty handed, she decided to make her own! Pao Pao Baby was taken from the lyrics of a Chinese lullaby, "pao pao" loosely translates to "precious little" (baby.) I love this!

The main thing that separates Pao Pao Baby from other "eco-friendly" shops is the cotton here really is natural! I see it all the time, I think I am purchasing an eco friendly item, yet the process of making it the way it is, is not natural by any means! You will NOT find that at Pao Pao Baby! What you will find is gorgeous, one of kind, unbleached, all natural and extremely functional nursing covers and more!

I decided on the Tea Stained Natural Cotton Nursing Cover with Sea Turtle. I knew this was cute from seeing the pictures online, but I was not prepared for how wonderful this would be!

-Key Features-

This is a fabulous size- Not quite 3 foot wide by a little over 2 foot long.

Adjustable strap on top, (d-rings)  just throw over your head.

There is a rigid neckline that keeps the material from draping around your neck. This gives you a constant view of baby, without exposing yourself.

Pocket on front for convenience. Think pacifiers, cell phone, etc.

Sea Turtle is super cute, made from eco-felt. (made from recycled post consumer plastic bottles.)

On the other side of the Sea Turtle there is a 100% cotton terry washcloth sewn on. This is my favorite feature!

-My Thoughts-

Everything from Pao Pao Baby is gorgeous, functional, eco-friendly and very affordable! Prices start at under $30!

You can find unbleached, tea stained, natural or organic nursing covers. There is even a precious diaper bag!

You won't have to worry about any chemicals from this shop! No, nada, nothing!

This material is simply gorgeous and I get compliments galore!

Are you ALWAYS frugal?

I am pretty tight with my money, and usually only buy things on sale, markdown, clearance, etc... I price match, bargain shop, coupon clip and spend numerous hours researching to get the best possible deals!

However... there are some things that I do spend money on, and I although I make sure to get a decent price, I am not that insane about it... Here are a few things that I have to have, even if I - gasp!-  don't find it in the mark-down bin!

Produce- I am literally a produce nut! I love fresh fruits and veggies! The thing that makes this NOT FRUGAL is that I even buy them in their off-season! (I also only eat organic.)

Meat- I eat meat for every meal. EVERY meal! I am extremely anemic, so eating beef makes a world of difference! Although I find meat marked down typically, I won't cry about having to pay full price- and I am talking about all meat- beef, poultry, seafood and more....  My family if full of hunters, so I am fortunate to have fabulous fresh meat as well!

Extra Goodies- Lactose free milk, (hey, I can't help that!) and special goodies, like jelly. Seriously, if you have not tried St. Dalfour, you gotta. I will never go back to cheap grape jelly, I don't care what you think of me!

About once a year I get a pedicure, but I don't spend money on haircuts, acrylic nails, clothing-(always in the off-season and super marked down- I bought jeans today for $4!) I even drive slower as I age, thinking that I can save money on gas... hey, it really works, just don't get behind me in a hurry! Sounds like I just splurge on food really... hmmm... interesting.


In retrospect, there are several things I just flat out won't pay for at all! Things such as toothpaste, deodorant, floss, shampoo, things along those lines...

"Etsy Month" Giveaway #9- Metal Pressions

I have been telling you about lots of different shops that are all about personalization and monogramming for our kiddos, but I have yet to show you a great shop that is for us parents! (and of course everyone else, too!) Metal Pressions is a shop that carries everything you can imagine, and yep, you guessed it, they "press the metal" if you will, hence the name!

I love this idea because anything is possible, and you can easily create unlimited pieces unlike anything anyone else has! Talk about one of a kind jewelry! You will find an insanely intensive selection of necklaces, rings, bracelets, cuff links, guitar picks, charms... the list really goes on and on!

When I found out that Metal Pressions would be participating in Etsy Week here, I was thrilled, and then I panicked, because the selection is so very intense!

I have shopped on several personalized jewelry shops before, but this store is super easy to figure out! Everything is easily laid out on the right side of the screen. There is a box for you to fill out with whatever you written, another for font, and then two more for the back. In less than minutes, I had found a great piece and had customized it as well!

First I decided that I wanted a personalized silver charm, and definately something different. Given that I am going through a divorce right now, I wanted a constant reminder of what love really is, and what I will expect next time. I found a great piece to start with, a rectangle shaped, silver charm!

I received my order very quickly, arriving in a cute little box, secure with foam. Inside I found a bag with my charm and a cleaning cloth. The charm is the perfect size for a necklace, .9" X .4" and is great quality! Cheap jewelry not only turns my skin green, but I am very sensitive to it... but this is high quality, and will last forever!

I picked 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 for my necklace, and if you are unfamiliar, here it is-

 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

This is a very important scripture to me and I love that I have it now to wear as a constant reminder!

"Etsy Month" Giveaway #8 Cutesy Pie Bows

We all know that kids can be super expensive, to say the least! I am always trying to only buy the necessities, as it seems there are literally millions of baby goods out there! There are few things you cannot jip on, like a car seat, crib, etc. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I purposely bought a neutral color car seat and stroller, with the idea that later on I could use it on my son.

Flash forward to now, my son is using the gently used car seat, and although the color is fine for a boy- green- I have seen this thing for years! In search for a great way to change the look, I found a fabulous shop that creates one of a kind car seat covers, and at a super FRUGAL price! Cutesy Pie Bows on Etsy!

Cutesy Pie Bows has a little bit of it all- car seat covers, blankets, bumpers, diaper bags, bedding- both baby and toddler, tummy pillows, baby bodysuits and more! Everything in the shop can be monogrammed for free, too! I love that!

The selection is super cute, and Elizabeth is more than happy to accommodate your special requests! There is a bit of everything, and everything can be customized with the color of your picks! The prices are incredible though, I mean, this 3 piece personalized crib set is only $139! You usually pay more for just the bumper- and talk about cute!

Since I brought to Cutesy Pie Bows Shop because of car seat covers, I was sent one and thrilled to check these out! I asked for the car seat cover in hunting camo with orange, because we are hunters and well, here in south, we love camo! ha!

The Car Seat Cover arrived quickly, and wrapped up in tissue paper. I thought this cover may be difficult to put on, but much to my surprise, it is one of the simplest things ever! There is elastic around the outside, and fits most all brands of car seats! Just slip over the existing cover, and you are good to go! There are 5 pre-sewn holes for a 5-point harness, and these easily slipped over, no problem!

Less than 5 minutes later, it looks like we have a brand new car seat! This is a lightweight cotton, and is great for the summer! In fact, it is much more breathable than the cover underneath! The next cutest thing is the monogramming!

The monogramming is of course, free! It is not what you would expect for free either! I know it is hard to see in the picture, but my son's name is in camo, too! How cute is that? I have been getting so many compliments on this, people want to know where I got my car seat, and they are shocked to know that this is just a cover! Better yet? These car seat covers are only $30! At that price, you could have several to switch out when you change your mind or while your kiddo is growing!

"Etsy Month" Giveaway #7- Angela Kay Designs

I have a total weak spot for girly aprons. Seriously, I own several. I love bright and bold colors with feminine shapes. With that said, I have been searching for some equally cute aprons, but in a smaller size, for my daughter. Finally, after months of searching, I have found the ultimate shop that has the cutest toddler size aprons! Angela Kay Designs is your go to place for oh so cute "mini aprons!"

Angela Kay Designs has amazing toddler size aprons, but you will also find a great selection of clutches, too!

Unlike many stories I typically hear from Etsy shop owners, Angela Kay Designs is much different. This is the story of a mom who, after having her first child, little miss Ava, taught herself to sew! That is awesome! After what must have been countless hours and many trials and errors, the obsession grew and Angela decided to showcase some of her creations online! I know I am not the only thrilled person, she has a perfect 100% feedback score!

First of all, the clutches at Angela Kay Designs are not just for spare change, ladies! You will find these made especially for the iPad, Kindle, Nook, and more! Some are great for a carry- all, even a diaper bag! Each is gorgeously made, adorned with nickel frame and ball clasp.

Back to my incredible find of the cutest toddler aprons ever... I let my daughter pick an apron, and once she found the cupcake print, there was no turning back! The boutique girl's toddler apron dress in Robert Kaufman Cupcake, that is!

Is this not super cute??

Main body of apron is made with Caleb Gray's Confections collection for Robert Kaufman in pink and the neck and ties are made with Amy Butler Lime Full Moon Polka Dot fabric.

Yet what I didn't realize is the high quality of this adorable apron! I have seen a few cute kid's aprons, but the quality is usually lacking. Angela Kay Designs will not jip you on this! You will find only the highest quality fabric, stitching and design! This apron is better quality than my aprons, hands down! Just look at a close up of the pocket below!

Even if you or your kids don't bake together, these are cute enough to wear with jeans and a t-shirt or use as an art smock!

 

The fit is perfect, and I love the little pocket! It adds just enough pop of the green color and is great for a wooden spoon too! Like I said, these are cute enough to wear even when not baking! My daughter has worn this over her outfit twice, and both times got compliments galore!
 

As if this apron was not cute enough alone, you can even find a mommy and me apron set! I LOVE this! How could you not? Well, if for some reason, you don't, there are several other prints available. Angela can also customize any fabric or embellishments to your liking!

Phineas & Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension Movie Premier!

Join the Disney Channel, Phineas & Ferb for their biggest journey yet- another dimension! The premier of this original movie, "Phineas & Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension," will be shown Friday, August 5th on the Disney Channel - 8 p.m.RT/PT, and on Disney XD, Saturday, August 13th, 10 a.m. ET/PT!

Are you familiar with Phineas & Ferb? This is Disney's award winning hit-series and has been TV's #1 animated show among tweens for the past three years! The general theme of the cartoon is about two stepbrothers, Phineas (Phineas Flynn) and Ferb (Ferb Fletcher) that are constantly trying to deal with boredom and make every day of their 104 days of summer vacation the best it can be! We can all relate to this! However, this is a cartoon, so of course there are great and hilarious other contents! What every great cartoon has is good and evil! For example, Perry, the pet platypus, is living a double life as a secret agent! Perry is always battling it out with the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz and yes, trying to save the world! Phineas & Ferb also have an older sister, Candace, who like most older siblings, is always trying to tattle on them to mom and dad! She always tries, but never seems to catch them though!

This is a hilarious, family friendly cartoon that we all love at my house, and we were so very excited to hear about the new movie! This movie will be where Phineas & Ferb go to another dimension! They finally find out that Perry is a secret agent, who battles with the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz daily, and they join him on an amazing adventure! They are taken to another dimension where the evil professor has taken over an alternate Tri-state area. When they find out the plans, they band together to stop the madness!

If the new movie was not awesome enough, last Monday, Disney launched the "Perry the Platy-bus on Tour!" (cute, eh?) This is a 27 foot long airstream trailer that has been customized to look like Phineas' & Ferb's teal colored pet platypus! This is a coast to coast journey- from New York to San Diego comic con international (July 21-24) and the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim (Aug. 19-21). Fans are invited to come abord and check out this incredible, giant-sized Perry! Inside you will find the new Unity 3D video game, "The Movie Game: The Dimension of Doooom!" and video game consoles, sing Perry-oke and so much more! (no admission charge either!)

My daughter is a huge fan of Phineas & Ferb, so she was thrilled when we were sent a package filled to the brim with goodies from the Disney Channel! Inside we found a Phineas & Ferb bag filled with the new movie, soundtrack, water bottle, mouse pad, band-aids, shirts, talking figurine, magazine, notebook, and more! It was like Christmas in July! Thank you Disney Channel!!

-My Thoughts-

Although I don't want to spill too much about the new movie, but regardless whether you are already a Phineas & Ferb fan, you will find it cute, exciting and great for a family movie!

I am thrilled with all the Phineas & Ferb goodies on the market! Seriously, the band-aids and the talking figurine is hilarious and so very useful!


Phineas & Ferb reaches nearly 110 million unduplicated total viewers across the U.S. in the first quarter! The series has been TV's #1 animated series each year since it launch in 2008 among tweens (ages 9-14).  As of 2011 to date, it is also TV's #1 animated series in prime among kids (ages 6-11). My 4 1/2 year is a HUGE fan as well!
