I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow for my shoulder! With that said, I am taking the rest of the week off from blogging. ( I love you guys, but man it is tough typing with one hand! Please be patient!!)

 I already told you about Etsy Week... and there has been such a wonderful turnout, that it is now "Etsy Month!"

Etsy Month will hopefully begin July 1st and last all month long! I will feature a new Etsy shop daily, along with a giveaway of course! Nursery Rhyme Singing Time with Mother Goose Club!

We love music at my house to say the least. My 4 year old is a singing and dancing fool! She is constantly putting on a show. You can find her in her element while wearing dress up clothes with guitar or keyboard in tow! Recently, we stumbled upon the Mother Goose Club and are so very excited to hare it with my wonderful readers!

Mother Goose Club is a series of 1-minute educational programs for preschoolers. Unlike other educational programs, these are made up of nursery rhymes that you can sing, dance and learn to! Produced locally in Tennesee, by a former PBS producer, educator and mother of 3, you know this DVD hit the nail on the head!

We were sent the DVD, along with 2 CDs and a matching coloring book. I have never heard of Mother Goose Club before, but once I heard it was all about singing, I was excited to give it a try. We were really impressed to say the least! My daughter, as well as my 7 month old love this DVD! You will find 6 very friendly, outspoken and colorful characters in this DVD that grab your attention, help you learn the words, and keep your kids active in each song!

Although the kids think this is all fun and games, this DVD actually learn to read! When preschoolers read, recite, sing or clap to rhymes, they develop a feel for the sounds and structures of language. Kids will also learn the drama and simple story structure through each nursery rhyme, encouraging early literacy.

The 2 CDS are just as fun and great for car rides or what we call "free style dancing time" (great for when I am cooking!) Each CD is jam-packed with 30 songs each from "where is thumpkin?" to "muffin man" So each song can be learned from the DVD, and once your child learns the song, they will be able to motion along while just listening to the CD! (again, educational!)

The last item included was the Nursery Rhyme coloring Time with Mother Goose Club. This is obviously a coloring book filled up with the same nursery rhymes you will find on both the DVD and CDS. Coloring is also a great way to remember the rhymes! After just watching the DVD once, my 4 year old wanted to color a page. Afterwards, when she was done, she showed me and recited that nursery rhyme! It stuck that fast- this is amazing!

I think this is a great fun, educational tool! Gears up your kids for vocabulary, develop reading readiness, enrich minds and enhance speech skills!

Each rhyme is 1-minute and holds kids attention and interest!

Fun, encourages participation and activity!

Super cute characters are engaging, encouraging, colorful and your kids will never know they are learning!

Reasonably priced- You can get the entire set like I reviewed, for around $30!

The DVD is 40 minutes, a perfect time for kids to learn something, but not so long they will lose interest.

Yum Yum Dishes- portion control made easy!

As most of you know, I recently had my second child. As much as I love both my children, pregnancy was tough on my body and finding time to workout can be even tougher! If I have a spare moment, I want to get something done- which typically is laundry, dishes, dinner, errands, bathing.... working out is usually on the backburner. My biggest weight problem is portion control. I don't know about anywhere else, but growing up in Louisiana and now here in Texas, we love food and lots of it! If there was only a way to control my portions.....

Yum Yum Dishes was created by a mother in the same boat. After her second child, Tracy realized that she had a snacking problem. She would grab a bag of chips, jump on the couch and grub. I know we have all been there before, so no shame. However, Tracy was determined to do something about it. She only snacked out of a small bowl and as long as that bowl was not re-filled, she got her snack fix and never felt guilty. Yum Yum Dishes was born!

What are Yum Yum Dishes? They are super cute, practical 4 oz. ( about 3/4 cup) bowls that take the guess work out of portion control!  These are hand painted and come in a set of 4- blue, yellow, green and red. Inside they read " Yum Yum time is OVER" reminding you that you have had your snack, now stop already! I love that!

If you are a fan of The Biggest Loser, then you are probably familiar with Lisa Mosley, who has lost 100 pounds! Lisa was another mother that had problems with portion control and turned to Yum Yum Dishes. She has lost so much more weight at home with so much help, and I think we can all agree that portion control is a serious issue with most of us! I don't know about you, but I have never been successful at eliminating all things such as dessert, sweets, etc. I have to have these, I will break without a reward! ha! Celebrating my Birthday with Flip Flop Wines! (a review)

As you should know (ahem...) my birthday was last Saturday. Don't feel bad- I didn't have a crazy party or anything, I only turned 19. (yes, again.) In fact, all I wanted was to relax and have a glass of wine! I recently told you about Flip Flop Wine, which is jam-packed with flavor and quality, all at about $7 a bottle! In fact, I was recently sent two more bottles, just in time for my birthday! Well, happy birthday to me!

Typically, I am a red wine lover and have not really been big on white wine. However, Flip Flop Wine makes some awesome white wines that are great for day time sipping! They also let you know what each of their wines are perfectly paired with. I love this, because well, I love food too, and if you pair your wine and food together, they complement each other = even better! Always awesome in my book! ha!

This time, I was sent the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Chardonnay! I was so very excited to try these and of course Flip Flop brought it! I am still in shock over the super low price and the high flavor!

First up, The Cabernet Sauvignon.

 Full bodied with a lingering taste!

Hints of blackberries and dark cherries and black pepper... yum!

Great paired with New York strip steak, spinach ravioli or Portabella mushrooms! (yum yum....)

I am pretty stoked about the Cabernet Sauvignon to say the least! This is a great wine! I ain't the only one that loves this either... Just this year, it has won 2 gold awards and 3 silver! WOW!

Second, the Chardonnay.

Chardonnay is a white wine, however, unlike others it is more dry than sweet. I dig that!

In fact, I always say that white wine is great for day time, because of it's sweetness, Chardonnay is great for twilight, and red at night... but hey, that's me. It always sounds like a great time for a glass of wine!

Medium bodied. Serve chilled.

Hints of a pineapple, vanilla, and a creamy toasted oak lingering awesomeness....

Great paired with Wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, mac & cheese or chicken Caesar salad!

(yes, you heard correctly, Mac & Cheese! You won't find another wine company that says that!)

The Chardonnay has won awards this year as well- 1 in Gold and 2 in Silver! Incredible!

-My Thoughts-

Flip Flop Wines rock! I told you these are around $7 a bottle, but I have seen them for around $5 on sale!

Great selection- 7 different wines.... yes, all $7. strange??

Flip Flop Wines may be a giant company, but their hearts are truly in what they do. You can feel a sense of closeness, integrity and compassion with this company. (this is something I rarely get from companies!)

Taking a short break!

GIANTmicrobes- Review & Giveaway

If you know me, I am honestly not a fan of stuffed animals, as they serve no purpose. They don't do anything, they are not educational and just plain boring... However, a company I recently found has created a massive line of stuffed animals that are created to teach us about Microbes! GIANTmicrobes, ha, who would have thought of that?! Seriously, although these stuffed microbes don't actually do anything, I find them hilarious, and they are "in" at my house! In fact, my daughter has been snuggling up with a tick the last few days!! ... seriously, I am cracking up with this... teehee....

GIANTmicrobes has everything you would NOT expect, too. Some microbes and critters include Ebola, Swine Flu, Measles, The Common Cold, Bed Bud, Athlete's Foot and so much more! (I would have never dreamed I would say that either... ) These are hilarious and make a great gift for anyone who loves a great laugh! Each GIANTmicrobe comes with information about your microbe as well, so you could also learn something!

We were sent the tick, and with summer upon us, I thought this would be a perfect time to teach my daughter about these critters. Once our package arrived, I was shocked at how cute the, um... tick was... yes, there. I said it...

My first thoughts were "Oh, I hope she is not scared of this thing..." but once my daughter saw this, she loved it. She immediately said "the itsy bitsy spider!!" I have tried to explain to her that it is a giant tick and we want to watch out for these outside in the grass..... however, she is dead set on the itsy bitsy spider thing.... I swear if she ever gets a tick though, she will totally remember this conversation.

The tick was accompanied with useful information, like different types of ticks, where they can be found, (I ain't looking!) and the proper way to remove them if you do get one! As disgusting as this may sound, I am glad to have a way to explain to my daughter about ticks, which by the way, are around here like crazy in the south, and in the most "cute and cuddly" way possible!

GIANTmicrobes not only has a huge selection of stuffed microbes, you will find critters, like the tick. Also, you can find tropicals, exotics, ambulatories and way more! There is also a huge selection of other products, like coffee mugs, hats and neck ties. (perfect for father's day!)

The site is super cute, and easy to navigate. You can search by best sellers, new products or even use a search tool to look up a specific microbe, or if you already know what you are looking for, look up the scientific name!

I don't know if you have been out shopping lately, but I gotta tell ya, things have changed. I find myself in mother mode so many times it ain't funny. I am continuously shocked by the things girls wear! Leave something to the imagination! However, I am what you may call an "in between girl." I dress somewhere in between classic and trendy. I like to leave things to the imagination, but I also like to show my curves. Impel clothing is perfect for me. Comfort, style, and womanly fit are key.

I had the chance to review an item from Impel, and I was sent the favorite V-neck tee in chestnut brown. I was honestly not prepared for the quality of this tee. I know the name should have said it all, but I just assumed that this would be a typical cotton shirt. However, this shirt is nothing of the sort. This shirt is fitted and has a bit of stretch to it- 49% combed cotton, 47% micro modal & 4% spandex. The perfect combination if you ask me. I ordered a size up because I don't like skin tight clothing, and with the stretch in the fabric, it fit wonderfully.

This shirt is also longer than other tees I have had, and in retrospect, the V is smaller, and more modest.

This picture does not do this shirt any justice either. You can see the basics, but in real life the color is much better and the quality is awesome. This particular shirt is $20, but if you buy 3 or more, you can save 10%. Available in 6 different colors.

The Impel Site is super easy to navigate as well. You should know how important that is to me personally, and I also know how time is so key to online shopping, especially to those of us with kids! There is also a fashion guide built into the website as well, with useful tips such as layering tips and a size chart. Another one of my favorite features? The huge sale section!
