Peaceable Kingdom Cooperative Games. Review & Giveaway

I am super competitive. Seriously, I don't let kids beat me in games just because they are kids! My daughter is super competitive because of that though.. she even has a full blown victory dance when she wins something and tells everyone else to "run off and pout!" Although having a bit of competitiveness is great, it can get out of hand, and I have found a wonderful solution! Cooperative games from Peaceable Kingdom! Cooperative Games are games that encourage players to work together, versus against each other!

I was already aware of the brand Peaceable Kingdom, but all I knew what that is was a company that sold games, stickers, etc. However, Peaceable Kingdom is much more! They have an incredible selection! Their products are high quality, fun and kids are sure to be pleased with the bright colors!

I had the opportunity to review a new cooperative game and of course my daughter was thrilled!  Once the game arrived, we were so excited, we immediately tore open the box and began the game! We received the Hoot Owl Hoot Game, and it is super cute! This game if for ages 4 and up, for 2-4 players and takes about 15 minutes to play! I think that is a perfect time limit- anything longer and kids this age will lose interest!

I first noticed that the colors are incredibly vibrant and fun! Second thing?  Everything in this box is 100% green- even the ink is soy based! With that said, all of the pieces are and can be recycled! How cool is that?

Like I told you earlier, this is a cooperative game. That means there are no winners or losers, and every player must work together to win! Yeah, I am super competitive, so I thought this game may be boring at first, but seriously, it is super cute, and I love that my daughter can really take a lead! Peaceable Kingdom believes that children strive when they work together in respectful ways. Games like this encourage bonding, teamwork and shared decision making! I can say first hand that this game experience was unlike anything I have ever experienced! Everyone was in a great mood, and we were excited to work together!

-How to Play-

The object of the game is simple- get all the owls to the nest before the sun rises! There are 6 owls, and you may use as many as you like. A deck of 50 cards contain colors as well as sun symbols. Every time you get  a color card, you move an owl to that color. If the color is occupied by an owl, you pass to the next available spot. If you draw a sunshine, you move the sunshine token up a spot on the board. Players can talk together about strategies and ideas. This game creates a wonderful bonding experience as well as promoting thinking together!

-My Thoughts-

Peaceable Kingdom has done a wonderful job with the Cooperative Games! Even as competitive as I am, I truly enjoyed this game!

These games teach many core values, principals and learning skills!

Love that these games are 100% green! Hoot Owl Hoot was on the Dr.Toy's Best Green products list!

There are 5 different cooperative games available!

This game was simple and my daughter learned quick, stay focused and of course wanted to play again... and again... and again... her attitude was much different as well after the game! No matter the outcome, she was excited and happy- even if we lost!

As you can see, once opened the genius box tells you everything- this is seriously no fail! Everyone should easily be able to follow the directions!

Inside, there is a small tube of the original TheraBreath Toothpaste, 9 packets of probiotics and a booklet full of information, instructions and special offers! The system is super easy!

1.) Everyday you use the TheraBreath Toothpaste. This creates a clean mouth that will be receptive for beneficial bacteria to colonize.

2.) Mix one stick of Probiotics with water. Just enough for two mouthfuls. You rinse with one, gargle with the other.

3.) Repeat for seven days!

*Day 1 and 7 you use both in the morning and at night, the other days, you use only once!

My daughter immediately tore open the package, put on her Power Cape and ran to the back yard! (here is her "tough girl" look...) The fit is incredible, and I wouldn't want it any shorter or longer! I love how there is a shine in the fabic, too! So very glad I went with the mask and power cuffs, they really complete the outfit!

The cape is really thin, and won't drag a kid down, but is quality material, so you won't have to worry about it falling apart! It "flies" perfectly behind a running kid and lets them fully use their imagination! So very refreshing to break away from all the electronic toys for awhile!

ComfortLuxe- New Sleepwear from HALO- Review & Giveaway

 As a mom of two children with very sensitive skin, I know the struggle finding great quality products that are effective, yet also offer me peace of mind. HALO is a company that I time after time stand behind. Their products are incredibly practical, and the company is not your average "money-hungry business," in fact, HALO is more concerned about helping children, and I LOVE that!

I am sure you are all aware of the amazing sleep sacks, and if not, you need to get with it! Seriously, these are a must have for all new parents! Although many products have been introduced over time from HALO, one thing has remained- and that is the mission- providing products that keep children happy, healthy and safe! Last August, I told you about the Technical Comfort System, and I loved the material that actually drew moisture away from the skin, resulting in less irritation and providing ease for skin problems, such as eczema. Then in February, I told you that HALO was being nominated for a cribsie award for their SleepSwaddle. Now I have the privilege to tell you about Comfort Luxe! ...and you are gonna love it!

The name really says it all... Comfort Luxe.. this material keeps our most precious people comfortable! I always thought that cotton was the best material for babies, but here in the south it is already pretty warm, and my kids are having night sweats, causing super dry skin! Comfort Luxe is here to the rescue, and unlike cotton, this incredible material dries twice as fast as cotton. Don't think that this material is not comfy either, it is breathable and super soft- just like cotton, but with added benefits! Comfort Luxe's unique process allows fresh air to continually circulate, keeping skin cool and dry, no matter the time of the year! Yes, Comfort Luxe is awesome even in cooler weather! Your child will stay cool in the summer, warm in the winter!

HALO has really outdone themselves with the Comfort Luxe line too, available in size newborn to 4T, there is a comfy solution for all of the young'ens'! The newborn size (6-12 lbs.)  is the Comfort Luxe base layer, and shaped more like a sleeper sack. This is the perfect companion to the Sleepsack Wearable Blanket! Unlike other gowns, this one made by Comfort Luxe will keep baby at a perfect temperature, providing cool skin and we all know that a happy baby is a well rested baby... and a well rested baby makes for a happy mommy! haha!!

The Comfort Luxe Coverall is equally cute and practical! These are great for sleeping in, and are super easy for a quick diaper change in the middle of the night! Footed for warmth and comfort. Roll over sleeves to prevent scratching.

I had the chance to review the 2 piece set from Comfort Luxe, and you know I love it! First of all, it is super cute... there are several different prints to chose from! The material is very lightweight and reminded me alot of the technical support system I reviewed back in August. However, I can see there are some differences in the two, and how I love the improvements!

The interior seams are flat, which makes for the insides super comfy and less irritating. Like the coveralls, the 2 piece set has rollover cuffs. This is a great feature, which not only prevents scratches, but can be great for those babies who love to have their hands curled up for comfort. The cuffs the arms and legs are made of cotton, providing a closer fit.

These wicking powers found in Comfort Luxe are so incredible, this is the only sleepwear to be awarded the Seal of Acceptance from the National Eczema Association! That is awesome, right?! The best part is that this material is chemical free, so it will never wash out or lose effect after a few washes....more awesome-ness.

-My Thoughts-

I can now add another product from HALO to my must have list! Comfort Luxe rocks!

These are cute, practical, reasonably priced (starting at $14.99 on Amazon) and help with dry skin!

The silky feel on the inside brings me to my only complaint. Why are these not sold to adults? I would totally sleep in this material!

I am not sure how this material was created, but it works wonders on dry skin. The breathable technology encourages air flow, creating a steady temperature, resulting in less chafing and irritation.

We are ready for summer with CSN Stores, are you?

As you should already know, I love CSN Stores. The selection is crazy huge, with well over 200 stores, everything can be price-matched, and you can shop for hours in the comfort of your own home and pajamas!

Since I have no problem telling you how much I love CSN Stores, you know that I am a CSN Stores Preferred Blogger. That means that I get more opportunities to share with you goodies- like promotions, reviews, contests and of course, giveaways!

My most recent experience with CSN Stores was a few weeks ago. It has been getting mighty warm here in the south already, and my daughter is constantly wanting to go outside. I love it outside, it just seems once a newborn in brought into the picture it can be tough to get anything done. I was on a quest to find something great for outdoors that both kids could ultimately use by summer's end. Also, I wanted something that would entertain my 4 year old for much longer than a day or two like most items. Sun protection is also a big deal to me as well... Think I was asking too much for a $50 budget?

Think again! Lookie what momma found!

This is the Little Tikes Butterfly Beach Sandbox & Wading Pool!

I know what you are thinking, and I was thinking it too... "this must be pretty small for that price!" I was pretty discouraged by the reviews as well- everyone said it was really small. But this was in my budget and fit every single criteria I was asking for! I went with it... and I am so glad I did!

Our box arrived a few days after we ordered. I was still a little sketchy, because even the box looked small. However, once opened, you can see that the size of the box is actually the size of one wing of the butterfly. I think this is a perfect size for the kids!

There are a few pieces you have to put together, and a screwdriver is needed. This was super easy to put together, it was done in about 5 minutes. You fill the middle (green body part of butterfly) up with water to stabilize, and the bigger wing with sand. The smaller wing is for water, so when dumped out, folds over to become a lid for the sand box. I was really shocked by the size of the umbrella as well- this is not your typically small and flimsy one- this is a great size and really covers well.

I am not sure why the reviews are full of people complaining about how small this sandbox is... this is my 4 year old in it! Maybe it is small, but I honestly would not want anything bigger than this! I added 3 - 25 pound bags of sand and you can see there is still plenty of room for more if you wanted. (did you know they make colored play sand? awesome!)  I love that the water is right there, and I can't wait until my little man is old enough this summer to enjoy it as well!

We have had the Little Tikes Butterfly Beach sandbox and wading pool for almost a week and it is still going strong! Everyday I get to bribe, uh, I mean, my daughter plays in it every day!

Food Should Taste Good- 2 New Flavors- Review & Giveaway

I have told you before how much I love Food Should Taste Good... and I am so excited to tell you about two new flavors they have added in their awesome, guilt-free, all natural chips! The two new flavors are White Cheddar and Toasted Sesame! These are just as delish as the other flavors and will soon be on shelves of your local stores!! whoo-hoo!

A few months ago, I was mearly a virgin to the Food Should Taste Good brand, and now, I have been practically selling them off the shelves at my store... seriously, it seems every time I pick up a bag, someone will ask me, "How are those chips? Do they taste like other health food?" And then it all starts- I have to tell them how awesome they are, and how wonderful it is that you can eat them, ( even the entire bag like I do...) and never feel guilty. More importantly, you won't feel bloated and nasty like you would with other chips.... HELLO.. there are no nasty chemicals in these chips!! I love this picture they have on their facebook page- it totally says it all!

Alrighty, I am sure you all know how much I love this brand now! With that said, there are two things I want to tell you about! First, these two flavors rock. The White Cheddar and the Toasted Sesame are of course made with real, whole ingredients. These flavors are packed full of all the amazing-ness- all natural, no preservatives, no MSG, no cholesterol, no trans fat. Just everything God intended us to eat, dangit!

The second thing I want to tell you about is Food Should Taste Good's Munch Madness Promotion on Facebook! Just like March Madness, Food Should Taste Good was having a showdown of all their flavors. Although March is over, and Sweet Potato took the top place, for champion chip title, (how cute is that??) you can still become a fan! Is a name change in effect??

I have been getting so many questions about the name of my blog! One Frugal Lady began because I was a couponer, and this was my way of bragging about my deals! I soon got tired of shopping all the time and began hosting reviews and giveaways for my readers! It seems there are quite a few companies, as well as readers who do not like my name, and assume that since I am frugal, that a product may not be right for me or my readers! I have explained several times that I think that quality means frugal, versus having to replace and re-purchase over and over again! However, if I were to change the name of my blog, it would be so much easier, and I may be able to offer you, (my wonderful readers) more giveaways and opportunities!

Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions for a name change, let me know as well! I value all of your opinions! Flip Flops Wines. A wine everyone can enjoy!

I love a glass of wine. Sitting on the porch after dinner, staring at the stars, relaxing... oh who am I kidding? I have not had a drop of wine in well over a year, I just had a baby! And relaxing? are you joking? Reality kicks in, and although I still love a glass of wine, it is just on different terms. Most importantly, I want a wine that taste great, but without the buck that I can enjoy- if I spill half the bottle I won't cry! ha!  Flip Flop Wines is a wine just like that! Flip Flop Wines was created by David Georges. (that is a picture of David above. See his flip flops and that oh so beautiful California grass? He seriously is passionate about the things he loves!) David is from a large Greek family, who always had a glass of wine on the table at dinner. He is a man that loves to give back to the community, and living in California, of course loved everything about that- surfing, hiking, flip flops!
 While working as an organic vegetable farmer, David discovered the art of grape growing. Once a small vineyard was established, he became crazy about the process- yes, in a wonderful way! David moved on to study viticulture and enology. (fancy words for grape growing and winemaking.)
David wanted to create an everyday wine, but stay true to the varietal character, be well-balanced and be affordable for people of all economic levels. How often do you see a wine fit that criteria?! I had the opportunity to review two bottles of Flip Flop Wines, and I was sent the Pinot Grigio and the Riesling. Although I am usually a red wine lover, I was excited to try out some lighter versions. I have always thought of red wine for night time and white wine for day time.. not sure if that is accurate or not, but with kids, it is more likely to be able to drink when you can! ha!

The Flip Flop Reisling is a medium bodied Riesling with hints of peach, apricot and melon. Great smooth finish. Very light, perfect for daytime sipping. Wonderfully sweet and great for this time of year! Serve chilled for best results and is great paired with tofu stir-fry, shredded pork tacos, sake sashimi. Of course is $7! Incredible!

The Flip Flop Pinot Grigio is equally awesome! This is a more dry than the Riesling, yet still with hints of tropical kick. Citrus and pear are lightly tasted and zesty clean finish. Very crisp. Great paired with brushetta, spaghetti carbonara or eggplant Parmesan. Yum! Served chilled and store out of direct sunlight.

-My Thoughts-

Flip Flop Wines is like Mr. Right- A perfect well-rounded goodness. Taste great, easy on the pocket book, and gives back to charity! This is a win-win for everyone!

All wines are only $7! If you have tried a bottle of wine at this price before, I apologize.. and try to remove that horrible memory! ha! Don't let one bad seed stop you from trying again! Give Flip Flop Wines a try- you will be shocked at how great it is!
