Pitter Patter Press- Review & Giveaway

Pitter Patter Press can be found on Etsy. Most of you should already know about my love affair with Etsy! I think the most unique, personal and beautiful items are found there! Pitter Patter Press is all of those things for sure- and creator Melissa, has a wonderful gift that also serves as a learning tool! Melissa knows all about print making, and has it down to an art! Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she has an amazing collection that are truely one of a kind!

One of the newest creations from Pitter Patter Press is the Alphabet Animal Card Set. These are not your average set either, the pictures are incredible! Each uniquely designed and created for you! You can even send in your own pictures if you wanted! I had the opportunity to review a set of these super cute Alphabet animal cards, and once they arrived, they were even cuter in person!

My cards arrived in a precious box, made of the same heavy weight water color paper that the cards are made of. The box has a velcro closure, and is pretty enough to give as a gift!

The cards are printed on 4 X 6, and are not your typical animals, either. I mean, look at the letter A, there is an aardvark! Where else have you seen that? Love that!

Each card is expertly designed, and full of wonderful colors! I love this style, and they make such a wonderful decoration! Yes, these are for decoration purposes only- if you are wanted to use these as a learning tool, Melissa can laminate these, and they will be kid-proof! I personally am using my set to decorate my little man's nursery! I love these!

The Baby Sense Secret Book- Review & Giveaway

It has been almost a week since I last posted. Don't be upset, I have been living on an average of 2-3 hours of sleep a night. I did a bad thing- I was letting my newborn sleep in the bed with me. Nursing every two hours was so much more convenient with co-sleeping. I know you aren't supposed to co-sleep.... and  breaking that habit is really tough! I recently heard of The Baby Sense Secret Book and was thrilled to review it- as I can use all the help I can get!

The Baby Sense Secret was written by Megan Faure, an occupational therapist. Megan has worked for more than a decade in the pediatric field throughout several countries and realized that most fussy babies had a key element, and sensory integration could calm babies and help them sleep better. Babies with poor sleep habits and feeding problems would benefit dramatically! Megan began with her own children, and learned that with the right guidlines, you could keep your baby calm, carefree and happy! Seeing a wonderful change first in her own children, and others, she knew that a great resource book would be something that would help thousands more! The Baby Sense Secret is no more- we can all get in on the secret!

I was sketchy, as most of us know life with kids is jam-packed and the thought of reading a book sounds great, but the reality is, we just don't have the time! This book is written great, and it is more of a "go-to" book, where you can easily look up something without having to read everything in between. The belief is that babies develop best when they are calm and rested. This book is a helpful training tool to do that!

The first chapter is about secrets of the senses- why they are important, basic guidelines, and getting to know your baby. This is also a fabulous way to bond with your baby. Of course every baby is different, you just have to find out what works for your child.

Chapter two is titled, "from the womb into the world" and it is just that. Think, if you may, what it would be like to make that transition. Bright lights, touch, sterile smells, new sounds and more. This chapter explains how to make this transition easy, simple and carefree.

Chapters 3- 6 explain how the sensory world affect your baby, how to read those signals your baby gives you, baby's impact on mom, and boosting your baby's development. These are all very related and one will affect the other. If mom is calm, theoretically, baby will be too. We all want our babies to learn things, but there is a thin line between learning and being overstimulated! Overstimulation can cause fussiness, with in turn creates sleeplessness... what a vicious cycle!

Chapters 7- 13 tackle techniques for babies of different age categories. As we all know, the first year of life, our babies go through so many changes, and they can be a handful for sure. These chapters are a great resource to keep handy and reference to if you have any concerns.

-My Thoughts-

I have stuck true to the Baby Sense Secret, and my little man is now sleeping for spurts of 5 hours a night!

I can honestly say that a well-rested baby in the house makes everyone more happy! ha!

My little man is 4 months old now, and the chapter for babies 4-6 months was right on! I learned great sleep solutions, a wonderful nighttime routine, games to encourage learning, how to read my babies signals, sensory soothing tools, feeding suggestions and so much more!

I love how simple it is to look something up in this book! A great time-cautious book, filled to the brim with straight, proven ideas that work! Glossary in the back makes it easy to look something up, and the colored coated pages are awesome!

The Baby Sense Secret Book was such a huge success, there is even a product line now! Products like cuddle wraps, receiving blankets and sleepy sacs!

Nutella Mommy Party!

I am sure that I am not the only one guilty of eating peanut butter out of the jar. Nor the only one who can sit and binge eat some chocolate... ha! Although both of these are awesome, they are not so awesomely healthy. Nutella has been around for some time, (1940s- seriously! Created to extend the cocoa supply due to WWII rationing.) and I have never given it a chance because I thought it was some "health nut" junk that tasted horrible. I recently had the opporutnity to try out Nutella and host a mommy party and I am so excited that it is amazing! (plus, my daughter can't get enough!)

Nutella tastes like a combination to me between creamy peanut butter and chocolate.... however, Nutella is made with hazelnuts, (more than 50 per jar!) not peanuts. Skim milk and cocoa balance out perfectly.. and you have yourself a delicious concoction of "yummy-don't-feel-guilty-don't-mind-eating-me-some-more-snacky-snack." There are no artificial ingredients or dyes!

Nutella is a great alternative, too. My daughter tried Nutella out for lunch last week. We rolled up a tortilla with Nutella and sliced bananas. Another day we had fresh strawberries and kiwi and used Nutella as a dip. My peanut butter and chocolate loving daughter actually prefers Nutella!

Nutella also has an awesome program where you can save your proofs of purchase to trade out for merchandise- like shirts, coffee mugs, tumblers and spreaders! You can also enter to win a case of Nutella on the website as well- there is a new winner every month!

TheraBreath- Review & Giveaway

Brushing your teeth is something that we all do, and dental hygeine is super important to me. Yet sometimes I wonder if I have bad breath... which can be a major bummer. TheraBreath is a company that takes care of both regimens- they clean your entire mouth, and fight bad breath- but get this- it is all natural!

I had the opportunity to review three of the best sellers from TheraBreath, and I feel strange telling you this, but I am excited about them! I have never tried anything like these, and I have actually been flossing my teeth twice a day with this system!

The maker of TheraBreath, the famous Dr. Katz, have not just created a toothpaste and mouthwash. They have found out the reason of bad breath- usually anaerobic sulfur producing bacteria, and found a way to combat against it, eliminating bad breath. That bacteria is nothing much to worry about- it should be there- they help break down proteins. These proteins are made up of amino acids, that eventually break down, sulfur is produced, and yuck- talk about bad breath! Other causes of bad breath can be dry mouth, sinus problems, tonsil stones and more...

Do you have bad breath? TheraBreath does not recommend that you cup your hands around your mouth to check- you will only smell your hands! Instead, lick the outside of your hand, wait to dry, then smell! Or you can actually smell your floss after using!

The first item I want to tell you about is the TheraBreath Toothpaste. This is where it all starts. If you use this toothpaste twice a day, it is guaranteed to stop bad breath! Unlike other toothpastes, this one is used dry. (You apply to a dry toothbrush.) and it is naturally oxygenating. Also, it is clear- pure natural ingredients. ( no lauryl sulfate!)  This toothpaste is powerful at fighting cavities, gentle on gums- aloe, and can be used all in your mouth- teeth, gums, inside of cheeks and back of tounge.

The second item is the TheraBreath Oral Rinse. This product is naturally oxygenating as well and uses odor- obliterating power of OXYD-8 for treating bad breath on contact! What I noticed different about this mouth wash was the lid. On the top there is a screw off lid, as well as a cup. You should pour your mouth wash into the cup, not drink directly from the bottle- this eliminates more bacteria from going inside, and you guessed it- creating bad breath! You should use the mouth wash after flossing for best results! Gargle for at least 30 seconds, and then spit. With another capful, swish in your entire mouth and spit. This stuff is natural too, you could even swallow this if you wanted- plus, if you do, it would attack bad breath at the back of your throat!

Last step is the TheraBreath Mouth Wettin Fresh Breath Lozenges. These lozenges are amazing as well! I have been able to share these and every time, the person will ask "what was that? it was great!" These lozenges first hit you with a fresh taste, then they attack bad breath germs, then stimulate your body's production of saliva. Saliva is nature's most effective way of fighting bad breath germs!

TheraBreath has several other products that clean your mouth and fight bad breath! Happy Mardi Gras!! -Fiesta Roses- Review & Giveaway

Today is Mardi Gras, and if you are like me, you want a way to celebrate! We are from Louisiana, and we love this time of year! Unfortunately, with a new baby in tow and another child, it is not very practical to go to the parades every year. If you are looking for a great way to celebrate - give Fiesta Roses a try! I gotta tell you, I am honestly not much of a flower person. Fiesta roses are so very unique in every way, I was so drawn to them! I was thrilled for the opportunity to see them in person, learn about the process and tell my wonderful readers about them!

-The Process-

Fiesta Roses starts with fresh long stemmed roses from their farms.

A trained horticulturist creates a mixture of water and various dyes.

The roses slowly absorb the mixture.

The unique process allows the horticulturist to pinpoint which petals receive each color.

The end result? Various petals being diffused throughout upwards of 60 of the rose petals!

I am gonna be honest with you, the process seems simple enough.. and I can still not understand how in the world Fiesta Roses can create such a beautiful rose! Seriously, these are gorgeous! Have you ever seen anything like this??

I received my roses last Tuesday, and they are still fabulous! Big fat roses, and each one is gorgeously colored- it looks as if they were grown that way!

Do you see how big this bouquet is? Aren't they gorgeous?? Even the leaves are different shades of blues and greens! My daughter calls these "fairy tale flowers" and I think so too! Complete with a purple vase, these are heavenly!

Body after Baby- Sweaty Bands- A Review

Working out can be a real pain. I love products that ease that pain just a bit by being functional and cute. Sweaty Bands is just that- and the name says it all.

Sweaty Bands was created by Donna, a wife and mother. Donna was also passionate about fitness, she taught both fitness classes and was a personal trainer for 20 years! (now that is some serious dedication!) Donna was known for having awesome music in her classes, but unfortunately, the money she was spending on that music was draining her budget. She created Sweaty Bands as a means to make up for that loss, and is still going strong. I am sure that she would never have guessed they would be so popular, but once you try one, you will love them!

Sweaty Bands are a no-slip, sweat-absorbing, one-of-a-kind, oh-so-cute, yet functional headband that is great for all types of sports, activities, or anyday, really. This is perfect for any day here in the south! The humidity makes me nuts, so this is perfect for anytime you get hot!

I recently had the chance to review a few Sweaty Bands. I was so excited because it has been getting pretty toasty on my daily walks and my workout video is really kicking my... well, let's just say I have been sweating! My Sweaty Bands arrived quickly and they were in a cute bag. My first thoughts were that the material is not what I was expecting, much better quality in fact.

The first one is the Do the small polka dots- in orange & white.

This Sweaty Band is a thin band, and of course covered in polka dots- how cute is that??

These bands are incredible, and stay put. I have never had a headband do that!  

The second Sweaty Band I reviewed was the Spinning Wheels in Khaki Brown & Green.

I love this print, as it is very neutral and matches absolutely everything! This is a wide band, 1 1/2 inches,  which I also love! (I have a ton of hair!)

As you can see from the above picture, the inside is a velour material. This material is what makes everything stay put. Also, the Sweaty Bands logo is on the inside.

Sweaty Bands are incredibly soft, stylish, functional and stay put!

Prices are about $15 for thin bands and $18 for thick.

These are such a practical thing to have for anyone who sweats- no matter the sport, activity or workout!

Sweaty Bands can be hand washed and drip dry!
