We love music at my house to say the least. My 4 year old is a singing and dancing fool! She is constantly putting on a show. You can find her in her element while wearing dress up clothes with guitar or keyboard in tow! Recently, we stumbled upon the Mother Goose Club and are so very excited to hare it with my wonderful readers!
Mother Goose Club is a series of 1-minute educational programs for preschoolers. Unlike other educational programs, these are made up of nursery rhymes that you can sing, dance and learn to! Produced locally in Tennesee, by a former PBS producer, educator and mother of 3, you know this DVD hit the nail on the head!
We were sent the DVD, along with 2 CDs and a matching coloring book. I have never heard of Mother Goose Club before, but once I heard it was all about singing, I was excited to give it a try. We were really impressed to say the least! My daughter, as well as my 7 month old love this DVD! You will find 6 very friendly, outspoken and colorful characters in this DVD that grab your attention, help you learn the words, and keep your kids active in each song!
Although the kids think this is all fun and games, this DVD actually learn to read! When preschoolers read, recite, sing or clap to rhymes, they develop a feel for the sounds and structures of language. Kids will also learn the drama and simple story structure through each nursery rhyme, encouraging early literacy.
The 2 CDS are just as fun and great for car rides or what we call "free style dancing time" (great for when I am cooking!) Each CD is jam-packed with 30 songs each from "where is thumpkin?" to "muffin man" So each song can be learned from the DVD, and once your child learns the song, they will be able to motion along while just listening to the CD! (again, educational!)
The last item included was the Nursery Rhyme coloring Time with Mother Goose Club. This is obviously a coloring book filled up with the same nursery rhymes you will find on both the DVD and CDS. Coloring is also a great way to remember the rhymes! After just watching the DVD once, my 4 year old wanted to color a page. Afterwards, when she was done, she showed me and recited that nursery rhyme! It stuck that fast- this is amazing!

I think this is a great fun, educational tool! Gears up your kids for vocabulary, develop reading readiness, enrich minds and enhance speech skills!
Each rhyme is 1-minute and holds kids attention and interest!
Fun, encourages participation and activity!
Super cute characters are engaging, encouraging, colorful and your kids will never know they are learning!
Reasonably priced- You can get the entire set like I reviewed, for around $30!
The DVD is 40 minutes, a perfect time for kids to learn something, but not so long they will lose interest.
