Go Green Pocket Diapers- Review & Giveaway

In my quest to learn about Cloth diapering, I have realized how much cheaper it is in the long run. With saving money, you are saving a ton of waste too! Go Green Pocket Diapers not only make great quality diapers, but they offer this at a discount anyone could afford.

Go Green Pocket Diapers are made of 100% Polyester knit that feels like a soft fuzzy material topped with a thin, flexible water-proof polyurethane laminate. This waterproof film keeps moisture from leaking out and keeps baby comfortable at the same time.
Inside each Diaper from Go Green Pocket Diapers you will find a fleece lining which is super soft and gentle. Each diaper comes with an insert made from three layers of terry cloth. This insert is then placed inside a pocket in the diaper (hence the name.) between the shell and fleece lining. With this option, you can change the insert rather than the entire diaper, unless there is some crazy blowout... which I am sure we have all witnessed  before!

I had the opportunity to review a diaper from Go Green Pocket Diapers, and I picked out the "monkey pee, monkey poo" print. How cute is that? I love this new print and it is only $8.99! How awesome!

Here is what I received in the mail. I was sent two inserts and plenty of cloth wipes as well. The cloth wipes are very handy and I had not really thought about cloth wipes while in my transition of going green with my diapering. I really had been using quite a bit of wipes and I am so glad to hear that Go Green Pocket Diapers made it so very easy with these reusable wipes!

The first thing I noticed about the Go Green Pocket Diapers were all the snaps.
Do you see all those?! These diapers are truly meant to grow with your child! There are 3 going up, and 10 across. You can find the perfect fit this way!

My baby boy is one month old, and this diaper fits him perfectly. I have no leaks to report and the material is super soft, comfortable and oh so very cute!

-My Thoughts-

Go Green Pocket Diapers are wonderful. Great fit, even better price.

The selection is super cute- you will definitely find a diaper you love!

The cloth wipes are also a great idea in becoming more "green."

Stay Dry Bath Apron & Towel- Review & Giveaway

Bath time can really be a chore. It seems you have a giant list of things you need, and when it comes down to it, us parents end up soaking wet, annoyed and searching for a clean towel. Fortunately, there is a new product that is mom- invented just for these times. The Stay Dry Bath Apron & Towel. I am sure you are rolling your eyes, thinking, "really??" Because that was my first thoughts exactly. Then I tried it out, and I instead was thinking, "why in the world did I not invent this??" I love this towel.

First of all, this is a towel that you wear like an apron. You put it on before you get your child in the bath. Make no mistake either, this apron is huge. 33" by 46" !When I put mine on, it hit right at my chins. The material is wonderfully soft, absorbent and made of great quality. Around the neck there is a velcro closure, so this is a one size for everyone, and can be adjusted easily. There is a tie closure just like an apron going around the waist. This is made of a thick canvas type material that will hold up for quite some time as well.

So obviously, when you wear the apron, it protects you from getting soaked. In fact, I have never stayed this dry EVER while giving either of my children a bath before!

Once bath time is over, you simply pick baby up and use the towel to dry them off. This is so much easier than searching for a towel, as you are wearing it! I love this!

This is such an incredibly simple and practical little invention that makes life so much easier!

The Stay Dry Bath Apron & Towel is available in three colors- blue, green and pink.
A hand mitt is also included for bathing, which is very smart.
As you can see from the picture above, there is also a pocket. Great for anything else you may need for bath time.

-My Thoughts-

I love this idea!

The towel is super soft- made of cotton terry.

Makes life easier, super simple concept, and a great price- starting at $19.99

Sold at Target, Buy Buy Baby & Bed Bath & Beyond.

Kushies Ultra Light Diaper Trial Pack- Review & Giveaway

So you know how curious I have been about reusable diapers lately! I have finally made the switch, and thanks to a few companies that have not only told me about their products, and held my hand while explaining the ins and outs, but shown me that it really can be simple! One of those companies is Kushies!

Kushies is the world's largest washable diaper leader! They have created amazing one of a kind diapers that are durable, thick, absorbent, practical and of course great looking too! One of the greatest thing too, is the Ultra Light Diaper Trial Pack, which has everything you need to get started with cloth diapering!

Here is what you will find in the Trial Pack-

2 Ultra-Light Diapers (3 different color options)
2 Washcloths
2 Washable Cotton Diaper Liners
10 Flushable Biodegradable Diaper Liners

Everything arrived conveniently in one bag. The Ultra-Light Diapers are amazing looking as well!
The infant sizing is for 10-22 pounds, which is a huge range. (and a money saver, too!) How FRUGAL!
As you can see, my little man is just barely at the 10 pound mark, and the diapers look a bit big. However, these did not leak not once and worked great.

What I found most unique about the Kushies diapers are the built-in liners. You do add in the liners that come with the Trial Pack, but these are for extra absorbency. I think this is a wonderful feature and once these become soiled, you just throw the entire diaper into the wash!

-My Thoughts-

Kushies diapers are great- and I love that they offer a Trial Pack that includes it all!

The diaper sizes are intended to grow with your child- saving you even more money in the long run!

The Ultra Light Diaper Trial Pack is only $32.99- an incredible price!

One reader will win an Ultra Light Diaper Trial Pack from Kushies!

Discover a new you with Skin-Peel- a review

Skin-Peel.com is a company that specializes in facial peels, revealing magnificent and new skin. I am very unfamiliar with skin peels, and for some reason had this horrible image in my head of my face turning red and burning like crazy if I ever used a peel...

I recently had the opportunity to put a product to the test! With much reading through the Skin-Peel website, I decided to try out the AHA Kojic Peel- this is one of the milder products offered and is great for sensitive skin. The AHA Kojic Peels are designed to help treat hyperpigmentation. I then went with the 30%- the mildest offered, this is an entry level peel and great for people who want to try out a peel for the first time. Because of how mild this product is, there is an extremely low risk of irritation. Very light peels like this are really considered exfoliation, as they only penetrate dead skin that sits on top of the epidermis.

The kit arrived, and included the following items-

Natural Skin Lighten Serum
AHA Kojic 30%
Neutralizer Solution Spray
Gauze Pads
Instruction Pamplet

After much reading the information sent, I was ready to roll! Here is how it worked-

Start with a clean face.
Apply a small amount of Peel solution to gauze.
Apply to face, avoiding the obvious places- eyes, mouth, etc.
After 30 -60 seconds apply neutralizing solution and rinse with cool water
Gently pat dry
Apply moisturizer and SPF 30 or higher

You can expect temporary mild redness and possibly flaky or dry skin afterwards.

-My Thoughts-

My skin feels great! -That is saying alot especiallly this time of year!

The kit I tested is $80- a bit steep, but this will probably last me about 1 year, so not too shabby.

I am no longer scared of peels, in fact, I learned quite a bit. They have been around for hundreds of years!

If  you would like more information, visit Skin-Peel.com and check out all the incredible products offered!

Pup Light- Review & Giveaway

Looking for a great gift for the family dog this year? Look no further than here- Pup Light really is simplicity at it's best! Our dogs would always want to go for a walk at night, or as the sun was going down. However, I always felt like cars would never see us, and if I carried a flashlight, I could be seen,  but my dogs- not so much.

Pup Light is a collar with a built on light that solves that problem. It creates a bright light visible up to a mile away!

Because the Pup Light is attatched to the collar, it can be used with or without a leash. So say it is dark outside and you are struggling to put on the leash, light up the collar and presto! problem solved!

Pup Light is actually 3 LED lights- which is brighter and more efficient as well. Pup Light takes 3 AAA batteries and last up to 150 hours!

The Pup Light also helps older dogs with seeing problems see as well! Of course the light is adjustable, so you can angle the light anywhere you please.

Even if your dog has the thickest and longest hair, the light could still be seen! There is a fur guard to keep hair out of the way from the light!

Perfect for dogs of all sizes!

- My Thoughts -

I tried out the Pup Light and it was so easy to use- my 3 year old had it working like a charm!

Pup Light is a great saftey tool for any dog to have!

Avaliable in 4 different colors at only $19.95, a great price!

Pup Light is sold internationally, so it is an option for everyone!

Thirsties Duo Wrap & Duo Hemp Prefold - Review & Giveaway

I have NEVER used cloth diapers before, but I have been wanting to really give it a try. It seems that cloth diapering has become more and more popular as time goes by and with that, also much more convenient. Cloth diapers are obviously green, save you money in the long run, are milder on baby's skin and the options are super cute!

Thirsties is a small company that is very passionate about cloth diapering. All of their products are 100% American made. In fact, creator, Erin, started five years ago with a sewing machine and $100- incredibly Thirsties is now a major leader in the cloth diapering world already! Talk about hard work! Thirsties diapers are now made by work at home moms- this reducing carbon footprints. Everyone affiliated with Thirsties is very knowledgeable about cloth diapering and you can rest assured that if you have any type of question, you will definitely get more than enough information back! Like I said, I have never used a cloth diaper before- and here I am about to tell YOU all about them!

I had the opportunity to review the Duo Wrap and the Duo Wrap Hemp Prefold.

As you can see from the picture, there are lots of adjustable areas on these diapers. That is because these really grow with your child. I mean, look below at the size chart! The snaps going down the front adjust the length of the diaper. Almost like three sizes in one, these diapers last so long- they actually grow with your baby!

The velcro on the sides is simple as pie. Just tighten to fit. Holds up great.

The Duo Wrap is available in two sizes- it only takes two sizes from birth to potty!

size one
6-18 lbs.
0-9 months

size two-
18-40 lbs.
9-36 months

The Duo Wrap is very thin and flexible. The material is almost "swimsuit-like." I love the look and feel of the Thirsties Duo Wrap- it absorbed everything, yet was breathable and gentle on my little man's skin. In fact, he did not have any diaper rash whatsover after using this diaper!

The area around the legs I thought would be a bit big, considering my baby is only one month old. However, since he knew he was reviewing these and all, he immediately put this Duo Wrap to the test! I have to say, although I was a bit nervous at first, not a single blow-out! This diaper held up exceptionally well! I am so very giddy with excitement over cloth diapers now!

You use an insert inside the diaper to absorb the goods. I used a Duo Hemp Prefold, although there are also a Stay Dry Duo Insert as well. The Duo Hemp Prefold is a genius-designed insert made of soft custom hemp jersey. As you can see form the diagram below, you just fold this material up, and you have yourself a super thick and absorbent insert for your Duo Wrap! This insert is naturally anti-microbial, more absorbent and durable than cotton and can be folded to grow with your baby! This also makes cleanup a very simple task!

-My Thoughts-

I love cloth diapering now! I can't believe it took me this long to jump on board!

Thirsties diapers worked great- not a single leak!

The options at Thirsties are great- good looking wraps and thick inserts at a great price!

The Duo Wraps are only $12.75 for solids, $13.75 for prints. The Duo Hemp Prefold is $7.00. WOW!

Both items are machine washable as well.

-Win It-

One Reader will win both a Duo Wrap & a Duo Hemp Prefold from Thirsties!

Most needed right now .... and win... (of course!)

I told you earlier that I was super sick- I either have a temperature of 104 OR 96... which I am pretty sure would make me a corpse... but hey, I am no doctor...

Since I am having to stay away from everyone for the next 24 hours, and I can't sleep, I figured I would share with you some great things to have around the house- especially if you are sick..... because I am that nice! ha!

Not that I want you to get sick or anything, but there are a few things I am wishing I had right now to make life easier and to be honest, I am bored outta my mind right now!

Television
I am not much of a television person.. but right now, I wish I had one upstairs with me. We only have one in our house, and even if I did own another one, I would then have to find a few great tv stands.

Warm Blankets and Comfy Clothes
Pretty simple. fever = chills = GET ME A FEW HUGE WARM BLANKETS. besides, it is comforting. Same thing with a great pair of say, the ugliest sweats.. hehe..

Hot Soup -
I prefer chicken noodle. yeah, the condensed "way too high in sodium" kind too. I am not sure if soup really does help you get better but it sure works for me.

Lots of pillows
This is a personal problem for me. I really think that when I have pillows all around me it makes it easier to not have to sit up myself... hmmmm...

Now these are only my top 4 most needed when sick items and trust me, there are lots. I am a total brat when I don't feel good. I am sure you all have your little tweaks and needs when you are sick too! Let me hear them! What is your most wanted thing to have when you are sick? Your childhood teddy bear? magazines?

Leave a comment on this post and Monday I will pick a person myself to win a $50 gift card! The gift card is a surprise, but as a tease, it is a FRUGAL place and it will become a great investment! For an extra entry, visit the link in this post and let me know you did!

Giveaway is open to U.S. Contest will end December 20, 2010.
Good luck!
Winner will be chosen by me by whatever I think is the most awesome commenter & contacted by e-mail, then respond within 48 hours or another winner will be chosen.

I was not paid to say any of this, and did not receive any type of compensation at all. This is mearly a teaser post for CSN stores. (and no, the  gift card prize is NOT for CSN stores.)

Still Sick!

Okay, I love my wonderful readers and I love telling you all about great products and hosting giveaways.... BUT.....

It seems that everyone in my house had allergies... and I got 104 fever, chills, rashes and more. yippee.

I have strep and scarlett fever. oh boy.

With that said, I am taking a few more days off! I am so sorry for the lack of posting lately! I will hopefully be back full blown Monday morning! I have lots of things lined up though! Here are a few companies that will be featured!
