Zippo Candle Lighter- Review & Giveaway

As you should already know, I am a huge fan of Zippo. The Zippo Hand Warmer was featured here, and it is not only very practical, durable and makes a wonderful gift, it is something that can last forever! The same is also true with the Zippo Candle Lighter.

If your house is anything like mine, you will find candles strung out everywhere- especially during the holidays! I am crazy about apple cinnamon candles from Thanksgiving all the way to New Year's around here! The thing is, lighting some candles can be tricky, and I have burned myself more times than I would like to admit. This Candle Lighter can solve problems like that by offering a long sleek design that can light candles that are hard to reach, keeping you from burns and outrages, of course!

I had the opportunity to review a Zippo Candle Lighter and I was sent the snowflake like the one above. Now, first of all, the lighter came in a cute little clutch style box with a handle attached. This is perfect for gift giving to your candle-loving friends and family! It would easily fit into a stocking or could be placed under the Christmas tree as is!

If you are not crazy about the snowflake design, there are 7 other prints available to choose from. From basics to cheetah to asian floral!

Other features that I personally love is the thin design that rests perfectly in my hand- it seems most lighters are made for bigger hands, where this lighter is more petite. There is of course a child safety button as well- which is great to have for anyone with children!

On the bottom, there is a dial you can twist, adjusting the flame. This is also a great feature to have for safety!
Smartest addition? The fuel level indicator! No longer will you run out of fuel again or wonder if you have enough!

-My Thoughts-

The Zippo Candle Lighter would be an awesome gift for that "hard to buy for person" this year!

The lighters range from $14.95- $19.95- a great price for a lifetime gift!

Other than Christmas, this would be great for a wedding, housewarming or birthday gift!

New England Coffee- A Review

If you know me, you would know that I LOVE coffee. I drink coffee year round, any time of the day, and love all sorts of varieties! I recently heard about New England Coffee and was given the opportunity to review some of their coffee! I was sent three different flavors and just in time for the holidays too!

The first flavor I tried was the Pumpkin Spice! I love pumpkin spice and it really tends to get me in the holiday spirit! This coffee was more mild than what I am used to, and great for any time of the day. The pumpkin flavor is very subtle, combined with the breakfast blend coffee with a very strong taste of nutmeg and cinnamon. I think this would be perfect combined with a coffee cake for breakfast! YUM!

The second flavor I tried was Gingerbread Cookie. This coffee was mild and I immediately tasted molasses, which is always a good thing! This breakfast blend is hit with strong hints of cinnamon and ginger. This would be amazing with a thick slice of carrot cake for dessert or just toast for breakfast!

The last coffee I tried was the Cinnamon Sticky Bun... my favorite of the three! This coffee is all about cinnamon and creamy vanilla without the mess! This is also a mild coffee that is great for any time of the day, and I would pair it with anything- sweet or boring.. this coffee is great!

All three varieties are a light roast, which is great for any time of the day, and great to have on hand for the holidays as well! These are of course are only seasonal, so try them while you can! The 11 oz. bags are only $5.49, and will get you through the holiday season care-free! For more information, check out New England Coffee's Facebook page for all the latest information, discounts and free coffee events!

Luminessair- Review & Giveaway

I would not consider myself (too) high maintenance, but I am the type of person that would not even check the mail without makeup on. With that said, I am always on the lookout for great products that make getting ready fun, simple and keep me looking great.

Luminess Air is a new system that helps you create a wonderfully finished look and with minimal make-up.This is done with an airbrush- so you can control how much goes on, get a more precise color match and get a flawless look all at once!
Luminess carries a full range of items from foundations, blushes, bronzers, concealers, tanning products, eyeliners and complete systems!

I had the opportunity to review some goodies from Luminess Air, and I was sent a system to review and contained the following:

Getting Started Guide
Registration Cards
Instructional DVD
 A/C Adapter
Hose
Stylus
Comp
Carrying Bag
Water Bottle for cleaning
Airbrush Cosmetics Starter kit
Airbrush Eyeshadow Kit

It is recommended that you watch the instructional DVD before beginning and I did just that. The DVD is very thorough, even for super clumsy ones like me. Once I was ready to begin, I started with a clean face, and I used a headband to keep my hair out of the way.

The Airbrush Cosmetic Kit came with the above-

Moisturizer and Primer
4 colors of Ultra Foundation
Brightening Glow
Blush
Matte Bronzer

I started with a light all-over spray of the moisturizer and primer, and followed up with a foundation. You should first pick the best foundation color for you- and even a color that is slightly off will look perfect once airbrushed on. The Blush was awesome- a great almost bronzing effect. The brightening glow was perfect to cover up dark circles.

The Stylus is very easy to use and is way better quality that what I expected. When applying, you hold like a pencil and with very gentle pressure, you push the button. The harder you press the button, the more make-up will be put out. Also, you want to hold the stylus about 6-8 inches away from your face and keep your hand moving- this will result in a better application and won't end up looking "cakey."
Once my make-up was done, I was ready for the Airbrush Eyeshadow Kit! My kit came with 2 colors and a nifty little instruction manual. It had different options for applying the eyeshadow- a day look, evening look and glam look. For my first try, I opted for the day look. The eyeshadow is much harder to apply as you are working with a smaller area, but with a few trial and errors, I was happy. I love the shimmer tones that Luminess Air has created!

Once you are done using the stylus, you simply grab the water bottle, fill up and spray through the machine to clean out any left over make-up. This is super simple, and I just sprayed directly into my sink! I love the metallic bag as it is keeps your comp stylus and hose together and safe, and of course is cute too!

-My Thoughts-

The Luminess Air System is awesome! Although it takes a bit of practice to get it down, you can create an amazingly flawless look!

This would make a great Christmas gift for any girl who loves to play with makeup and create new looks!

You use much less makeup with an airbrush system, making it last much longer.

All the makeup is oil-free, water-based, dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested.

This contains a brown calligraphy eyeliner, black calligraphy eyeliner and a black mascara!

Shower Hug- Review & Giveaway

I am at the end of my pregnancy. In fact, my doctor just told me that I have until Monday, and I will be induced. Although I am very excited to see our new little one, and oh so ready for this pregnancy to be over, there are a few things I am NOT looking forward to.
For starters, I am having a C-Section. I have no choice, as I cannot find a doctor around that will offer a VBAC. With that said, I remember how much my stomach hurt last time around. Also, it can hurt a bit more while breastfeeding, even worse- taking a shower. Of course I love to shower and get fresh and clean, but when you have staples holding your stomach together and your breasts are engorged, it can be a major burden! I just ran across a product that was invented by a mother and seems so very practical that most of us would give it tons of praise! The Belmama & Cherub Shower Hug will save the day!

The Shower Hug was created by a mother who was dreading shower time as well- she was hurting from breastfeeding and found herself wrapping a towel around her, and bathing with the other hand. This is NOT a relaxing scenario, yet I am sure that if you are a mother, you have done this at some point of time! UGH! The Shower Hug is the same idea as a towel, of course even better!

You find a size that works for you, to assure a perfect fit. The shower hug is basically a strip of towel that connects with velcro- 4 inches to be exact. The material is out-of-this-world-heavenly-soft. Honestly, I keep "petting" it as if it were a cat! It can be worn in the shower of course, for added comfort and when done so, you can enjoy your shower, or what most of us new moms consider "alone time!" ha! It works as a compress in the shower and keeps you feeling comfortable, secure and relaxed!

The Shower Hug can also be worn dry. You could sleep in this softness, and you will feel "hugged" all night long. Much more comfortable than a bra, this is a great alternative to relieving engorgement as well as keeping you dry all night long from leaks.

As another option, you can use the Shower Hug to relieve pain caused by C-Section. (like I will most likely start off with.) I vividly remember my last C-Section and the pain I felt during those showers while my body was still healing. The Shower Hug will take away the pain from the water pressure in the shower.

-My Thoughts-

The Shower Hug is a very practical item & would even make a wonderful gift for any new mother!

The Shower Hug is insanely soft, even the velcro is gentle - made of 80% organic cotton & 20% EcoSpun Blend.

To wash, hang to dry or add to baby's laundry.

Can be used for engorged breasts, C-Sections, Masectomy, and more.

Available in 4 sizes and 3 color options.

101 Things to Do With Meatballs- Review

Other than the obvious, on top of spaghetti,  I never know what to do with meatballs. I would never have guessed that they were so very versatile or delicious in so many different ways! How did I stumble upon this? I found the  book, " 101 Things to Do With Meatballs" of course! This book is presented by Casa Di Bertacchi Meatballs, a fully cooked meatball found in your grocery store.

From Appetizers, Soups, Sandwiches, Dinners and Family Favorites, this nifty little book is loaded with ideas! My favorite part of the book is the section loaded with helpful hints- because I am so new with the meatball ways...  such as what to look for in a meatball! ha! This book is super easy to read, and pinpoint exactly what you are looking for. I will definitely be using this for the upcoming holiday season for quick ideas!

This book is written by Stephanie Ashcraft, a mother of 4, who started this book as a college project, then it became Christmas presents to her family, and now it is available for all of us to enjoy! With that said, I think most of us around here can appreciate simple and quick family meals, and in this book, you will find just that.

A few of my personal favorites include-

Meatball Jalapeno Poppers
Southwest Taco Salad
Italian Foccacia Meatball Sandwiches
Holiday Meatballs
Eggplant Parmesean
Sesame Stir-fry
Kid friendly Taco Casserole
