Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion - Review & Giveaway

 The weather change is upon us, and I am loving it! Thing is, my skin is not! I already have super dry skin year-round, and with the cooler weather it is taken up a notch. Not only is dry skin itchy and unattractive, is it ever annoying! Skin MD has created a line of products that not only solve the dry skin issues, but also protect against it reoccurring again... and by staying natural!

Skin MD spent 7 years in research and development and went thru 741 blends of lotions to create something above and beyond. The finished product is more than 6 times more effective than glycerin and strong enough to treat eczema! With all this said, you would think that this lotion would be some foul-smelling, thick cream... and that is just the opposite! Skin MD is a lightweight, non- greasy, dermatologist recommended, eco-friendly lotion that smells very faint. My favorite part? There is an added in SPF 15 inside, which I love- this saves me a whole process every morning!

The Shielding lotion is a whole new level though. Look at the above pictures- this little miracle in a bottle is gentle enough to treat this child, yet powerful enough to nip dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and other skin problems in the butt!

I had the opportunity to review the Skin MD shielding lotion, and after a week of use, I have seen a noticeable difference! My skin was dry. Real alligator dry. I was actually thinking about seeing a dermatologist dry. If you stop and think of all the products our skin is exposed to on a daily basis, it really does make sense.  Water, soaps, cosmetics, fragrances, colorants, chemicals and more... yuck. This lotion moisturizes your skin, from head to toe, gently and also "shields" your skin (hence the name) from other harmful products. Other products don't do that, they just provide temporary relief to the top of your skin, and actually adding more chemicals...

Initially, you apply every 2-8 hours, and once your moisture levels in your skin improve, just apply once every 12-24 hours. Like I said, the fragrance is very light, and even my husband was loving the shielding lotion. (and yes, still felt manly....)

The shielding lotion actually reminded me of prescription lotion for eczema. My daughter was diagnosed with eczema last year, and although it is only a real pain in the cooler months, the shielding lotion works just the same- just without a doctor visit and a trip to the pharmacy!

I am completely impressed with Skin MD Shielding Lotion and will continue to use this!

The bottle is $18, which is a bit high, but it last very long- so in the long-run, a frugal buy!
