I won an award!

Michelle, over at Tales of a Tightwad Nominated me for a Kreativ Blogger Award! The rules of this award are to list seven things you love and pass it on to seven bloggers you love.
  • 1. Jesus (sure wish we could find a church home, though!)
  • 2.My family & friends - I couldn't make it without them either!
  • 3.Cleanliness- I am a total germ/clean freak, so I like things shiny-clean from the kitchen to our bedrooms, to our yard!
  • 4. Practically anything that comes out of the ground! I find it amazing that so many beautiful plants, flowers, and produce can be planted so easily!
  • 5.My daughter just started saying "I love you." wonderful!
  • 6. The smell of onions, bell pepper and garlic sauteing in a pan! Yum, it is practically how I start every meal!
  • 7. I also love small, but great gestures. As I wrote about yesterday, I was completely embarrassed, and for a moment, I felt as if someone were giving me a break, with just a look, showing that she understood how it can be to raise a 2-year old. I also love gestures like someone opening a door for me, or telling me that I "look nice today," because it is such a simple gesture, but can put you in a great mood!
The 7 bloggers I am passing this onto are:

One of those days....

Yesterday, I called our new JCPenny store, (which, by the way, I am so excited about, since we live so far away from the mall. Whoo-hoo!) and scheduled an appointment to get some spring pictures taken for this morning. Since that, we discovered that we had about 2 billion termites (yes, I am probably exaggerating...) living in one of the flower beds, and they were flying frantically into my kitchen... fun stuff... huh? Well after about an entire bottle of bug killer, and using our trusty shop vac, it seems they were all doomed....

This morning the pest control guy came out, and of course, all the flying termites are already gone. He said that they were just flying out of the ground to go somewhere else. That's it? Geez...He also said that however we sprayed we did an excellent job, because he would have charged me at least $500 to do what my husband did. Real nice.

When the pest guy left, we ran to JCPenny's to get some pictures taken. My daughter was so happy, as she is all about pictures. She wore her new dress and of course had to have a purse! It went great, and I am very happy about the employees there, super nice! On the way out of the portrait area, there was the next appointment waiting, and the cutest little boy. He was eating some gerber graduates snacks, and my daughter, being the little brat that she is, started throwing a huge tantrum..... that seemed as it lasted FOREVER.....
as I was pushing the stroller out into the rest of the store, (of course she won't get IN the stroller.) she was running behind me, screaming, crying, snot running down her face, ya know, what 2 year old's do. I tried to comfort her, and it is a no-go, she just wants to let it out, I guess, I grab the snack I had packed, but she dosen't want that either, she wants that little boy's snack!!

Just then, an employee, an older woman was walking by, and looks at me as to say, "I know how it is, and I don't miss it at all!" I smirk, and laugh, because that is all I can do, really. Laugh it off. Two other women are walking by with their precious and quiet kids, and say to me, "It is not funny, you should be ashamed of yourself!" I tell them that "she is just tired, and ready to go home." I guess this was not enough of an excuse to them, because one of the women actually walked straight up to me, and pushes me, and says that I don't deserve to have children! I am completely shocked at this time, and of course my daughter finally stops screaming, and says "No hitting" to the lady. OMG....
Another employee comes over and is confused, they ask me to " leave the store if I cannot control my child."
I don't think I have ever been so embarrassed in my entire life.

What I would like to know, though, am I in the wrong? Do I need to call Super Nanny or something? I would love to hear your opinions, good or bad, as I am sure I could learn a thing or two about how to control my child! Thanks so much!

Ah... where is Ty Pennington?!

If you haven't noticed by now, I am taking a little blogging break... (and I may possibly be having some withdrawals from shopping as well....)
We finally got some of the insurance money back from the storm last year, yeah it takes forever... but, we have been working our butts off because apparantely, no one works for free, and that is exactly how much we have to spend... so.... we have been ripping everything out, cleaning frantically, and trying to replace all of the damaged parts. Since my husband has had so much time off work lately, it has actually been a blessing, because I honestly don't know how on Earth we could be getting this done any other way.
I am sure I will have to go soon and get "my shopping fix" and blog about it soon, but for now, I will be working and hoping that Ty Pennington will stop by my house sometime-and soon! haha...
Please wish us luck, as this is a learning process for us! Thanks for being patient!! - Jenny.
(Here is our new floors in our living room! Love em'! Oh, and if anyone has any home improvement tips for me, Please let me know! Thanks!)

Square garden update

Since I have had so many e-mails and comments on how I built my square garden, I will have my husband do a "guest post" for me, to tell all the specifications and what nots... We got all the supplies at Home Depot, and they even cut up all the wood for me, too. This makes things so much easier! Tomorrow I will have the "how-to" post up, and for now, check out the pictures below to see how much my garden has already grown!
